Sculpted Hands (25) All LevelsCreate a wire armature in one of three sizes (1-1/8″, 2-1/2″ or 3-1/2″) using a Lydia Caine custom jig. Cover your armature with a choice of apoxie-sculpt, cloth, or paperclay. You can even make a Michael Jackson type of gloved hand with wonderful silvery mesh. In Ottawa’s Museum of Civilization, the figurative display entitled Timeless Treasures: the Story of Dolls in Canada, ran for an unprecedented three years and was annually voted the public’s favourite exhibit, three years in a row. The event showcased THE DOLL from prehistory (Inuit and First Nations pieces) to the better-known porcelain and vinyl dolls of the present and featured the one-of-a-kind figurative art of some of the members of the Canadian Doll Artists Association.
