Corsets are making a come-back and they’re no longer underwear…nor do they look like anything your Grandmother may have worn. For many years there’s been a bit of mystery surrounding the corset; from how it’s made to how it’s worn. Farthingales is hosting a Corset Themed fashion show with the assistance of Sew Be It Studio to solve some of these mysteries. Many of the corsets featured will have been made from corset kits of the Rye & Ginger Kits line! Some will have been made by teens and some by experienced professional costumers but all corsets will incorporate the elements that “make a corset a corset”. Models will be of various ages and body types as the corset makers have been encourage to model their work. Worried that this show may not be rated PG 13, don’t be – all entries are safe for any audience so come see the show and discover just what you didn’t know about corsets! We know you’ll be pleasantly surprised and if you’ve been trying to inspire someone to sew this may be the inspiration – 1 hour free fashion show only on the Creativ Festival Fashion Runway – 1:30pm Friday, October 22, 2010
