Awe-Inspiring Mennonite Quilt Exhibit
We’re honoured to be able to showcase some of the fabulous Mennonite Quilts from the Len’s Mill Store Collection. This fabulous quilt began with the bold vision of Renske Helmmuth who instructed and inspired 67 women from the Listowel Mennonite Church and Waterloo County Quilters Guild to help with its creation. Made from cotton, ultra suede and wired ribbon, the blocks are mostly traditional Baltimore Album patterns from the mid 1850’s while the border is Renske’s original design. Did you know? The ‘Baltimore Album Quilt’ was purchased by Len’s Mill Store for $16,500, breaking all previous records for the highest paid quilt, sold at the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale Auction. And, you can view it at Creativ Festival along with more quilts from their collection.
