Erla Wilson began a home based business in 1986 that grew out of a ‘genetic disposition for sewing’ and a great love of embroidery from a young age. Country Garden offers smocking and embroidery supplies, lessons, custom orders and gifts. Erla is a founding member and the ‘Smocking Mentor’ of the Grand Smockers Guild in Cayuga. She is also the Dean and founder of Dorcas Camp, a 5 day retreat for daughters, mothers and mentors offering a wide variety of craft, sewing and stitching classes for girls and women of all ages and skill levels. Erla’s work has been featured in A Needle Pulling Thread. She is Grandma to 2 precious girls, the family genealogist and enjoys gardening and sharing her needle art skills with anyone who is willing!
