Cable Without A Cable Needle
Speed up your cable knitting and expand your skills by working cables without a cable needle. Work through a variety of swatches, starting with 2-stitch ‘mock cables’ and knit-over-purl twists then move up to multi-stitch cables. You’ll practice the technique and find out which yarn and project types lend themselves to abandoning the cable needle and those that don’t (i.e. wool or yarns with some friction are better than fibres like silk). Pre-requisite: Must have worked one cabled project. Bring: Light coloured scrap worsted or aran weight yarn & matching needles. 5mm recommended.
1.5 Hour Workshop.
Colourwork: Fair Isle & Intarsia (20) All Levels
Kate tells all to work with multiple colours and confidently handle both Fair Isle and Intarsia techniques. Learn how to tell the two apart and work with both written and chart instructions. Then try 6 to 8 different stitch patterns. Explore Fair Isle using one-hand and two-handed stranded methods and see how (and when) to handle long floats and ensure your gauge is even. Bring: 4.5mm needles.
3 Hour Workshop.
Continental Knitting (16) All Levels
Want to knit faster? Are you ready to tackle colourwork? Knitting continental style with the yarn in your left hand rather than the right is the key to speed and also helps enormously with colourwork. Continental knitting is more efficient and causes less strain. Perfect for those affected by arthritis. Pre-requisite: Knit & purl. Bring: 4.5mm needles.
2 Hour Workshop.

Bring: 4.5mm dpns, 16″ straight & 32″ circular needles.
