Fork and Spoon Jewellery wanted to share with you a bit more about her creativity.
March 2011 is when I started my creative process. I have a Developmental Services Worker Diploma and have worked as a Cabinet maker. I have always been talented with tools and machinery and enjoyed the hands on creativity. I seen a spoon ring made from an Antique spoon handle and thought it beautiful and unique. From here, as my sister tells it, I went out to the barn to create and have not been out since.
So here we are to date. All of our flatware is flattened by hand with a small sledge hammer. All the textures we imprint on our pieces are done with different tools and done by hand, piece by piece. Fork tines are bent by hand with different types of pliers and hammers. Spoon handles are bent between 2 steel rods and a soft mallet. We use a small drill press for any holes and a belt sander for the finishing off of ends we have cut. Buffing to a brilliant shine is our final step in creating. Choosing a unique affordable upcycled gift from our stock or from your very own Vintage Heirloom silverware, we create pieces that can be adorned by friends and family for years to come.
