Discover inspiring techniques to create your own fabric statements. Linda has the cure for ‘fabric-itis’, that uncontrollable urge to collect more fabric, combined with the fear to cut into it. Just bring a combination of fabrics, sentimental garments, scarves, ribbons, yarn and other odds and ends which can be ‘repurposed’ to make a new creation. Together with materials provided, explore various painting, drawing and dyeing techniques, be introduced to fabric collage and learn tricks to manipulate fabric. Want to take your creative fashion sewing to the next level? Have a closet full of garments and still feel like you have nothing to wear? See how a designer puts together a collection and discover how to apply those principles to a wardrobe that works for you. Learn to let the fabric drive the design, what’s the best design for fussy fabrics and how to build on your existing wardrobe. You’ll put together a story board that will become your roadmap to a professional group of garments and your personal designer wardrobe. Bring: Fabric swatches you’d like to use, photos, magazine clippings, tear sheets, trims, notions, scissors & adhesive.

Good quality fabric is an investment and like any investment, not to be wasted. Designers use 75% of the fabric, the rest is excess… see how to use up 100%! Join Linda for a session loaded with creative ideas that bring your fabric leftovers back into the garment. You’ll start with a simple ‘LL’ tank top pattern and learn techniques to add depth and detail to create interest and appealing silhouettes in this draping and design workshop. Plus, tips for matching accessories. Bring: 2 meters of a jersey/knit you’re willing to sacrifice & let us know your bust and hip size.
