Carol Ann Savage is a Creativ success story. She first tried her hand at Lampwork in the Nortel sponsored Introduction to Glass Beadmaking hands-on workshop at Creativ Festival in 2012 and the rest is history. She now runs her own studio, and turns out fabulously unique beads that could only be created by a true artisan!
Lampwork: The Art of Making Glass Beads
The 14th century artisans in Murano, Italy created intricate glasswork by winding molten glass around a steel mandrel using only oil lamps as their heat source. This resulted in the current term of Lampwork. Although this ancient art form continues to intrigue today, the artisans of modern times have really turned up the heat! Watch as Carol Savage skillfully wields a duo fuelled torch to achieve a precise flame to magically create beautiful individual beads, each one a unique handmade creation.
