Let daring designer Paula Lishman, knitting blogger Michelle Nguyen and designer/teacher Christine Bossart expand your knitting repertoire!
Paula Lishman is an innovative, daring designer who has worked for over 35 years manufacturing a fur yarn and designing fur yarn garments, unparalleled in look, warmth and supple comfort! She actively promotes an environmentally aware attitude towards fur, preferring to work with Canada’s wild beaver. The fur used is taken in harmony with the natural checks and balances of nature. Paula has been President of the Fur Council of Canada for the past 8 years and believes in the sustainable use of Canada’s precious renewable resources.
Fur Yarn: Flair & Functionality
Paula’s background as a fibre artist led her in the early 70’s to experiment first with leather, then fur pelts, cut by hand into a narrow strip or yarn. The resultant double-faced, flexible fur fabric changed forever the International Fur Trade. Share her journey with pictures and garments in an intimate, colourful and humorous session.
