Felted Vessels – All Levels
Use merino wool roving and the wet felting technique to create a 3-dimensional vessel. Explore colour, form and texture as you work with wool fibres and embellish with silk and other materials which are felted into the surface of your design. Complete a unique vessel that can be used as a candle or pencil holder, vase wrap or whatever else your imagination can muster. Note: Wet felting is a very physical process, so be prepared to use arms and hands to roll and manipulate the felt in process. Suitable for both beginner and experienced fibre artists. Bring: Scissors, 2 old towels & old pair of panty hose. Kit $30
6 Hour Workshop
Felted Cuff – All Levels
Wet felt a cuff bracelet using merino wool roving and silk fibre. Learn to use a plastic resist to create a seamless pocket which will then be felted in place over a brass bracelet blank. A Swarovski crystal focal embellishment will be provided to adorn your cuff and Dawn will share some basic beading techniques that you can use to further embellish your piece. Bring: An old towel, scissors & thread. A selection of seed beads and crystals will be provided or bring your own in your favourite colours. Kit $15
