Yvonne Menear joins us from Langley, BC and is an international speaker and educator for the home sewing industry. She concentrates on teaching sewing, quilting, machine embroidery, quilt design, digitizing machine embroidery and basic computer skills for the home sewer.

Thread Painting Pre-Printed Fabric – All Levels
Learn to thread paint a fabric by following a pre-printed fabric design. You’ll learn the settings for the sewing machine tensions and set up the threads of choice with the appropriate needle and bobbin to enhance an already printed fabric. The thread painted fabric will then be used to construct a decorative pillow cover you’ll complete in class. Bring: 6″ hoop. Kit $15

Decorative Zippered Clutch – All Levels
Come construct and sew a clutch style purse using decorative stitch techniques. Learn to work with different weights of threads and ‘stack’ stitches for a unique look. Yvonne shares secrets for embellishment techniques that work with a basic sewing machine. Kit $15

Stitch from the Back – All Levels
Create a stitch design by following a printed pattern placed on the back of the fabric. Find out how to use various decorative machine stitches to give depth to the stitched design. The ‘thread picture’ is actually created with the bobbin thread and the stitched fabric design will then be used to complete a unique needle case. Bring: 6″ hoop. Kit $15
