Crafting For A Cure and The Crochet Crowd have been working together since Fall 2010. Together they raise awareness and donations to help children and families have a more enjoyable stay while at the hospital.
Crafting For A Cure, founded by Pamela Bielak, took a personal situation and used that frustration to turn it around to create a difference instead of waiting for others to step forward. Her mission is to upgrade hospital playrooms, provide toys, clothing and so much more that helps provide a more comfortable stay during difficult times. The Crochet Crowd, founded by Michael Sellick, partnered with Crafting For A Cure by providing free tutorials for projects that are needed by Crafting For A Cure. Many people like to give their projects to charities, but not everyone can read a pattern to do so. Michael’s mission is to provide free ‘how to’ tutorials to the globe in the form of crochet, knitting and other fun crafting techniques. Michael’s following is massive and he uses his platform to support and encourage charity donations through finished crafting projects.
You can see during this interview with Pamela and Michael that there’s a great partnership involved. This was filmed in October 2011.
Pamela and Michael are back at it again raising awareness for this excellent cause. Crafting For A Cure is the official charity of Creativ Festival.
