Presented by: Markham Guild of Village Crafts
Mary Mullen was born in Ireland and educated by the Loretto Nuns in Dublin. She learned to knit, sew and cook from an early age and then sewed clothing for not only herself, but her children as well. In 1990, she took her first quilting class at the Markham Guild of Village Crafts: Traditional Hand Quilting. Although she loved hand piecing/quilting, the process was too slow for her speedy lifestyle. Mary pursued her passion for machine piecing and quilting and took classes with local, national and international Quilt Teachers. She has won many awards and had her quilts displayed at York Heritage and Region of York quilt guild shows. Mary pursues her passion for quilting and is a popular teacher of all levels of quilting, from beginner Quilting 101 to the advanced level Star Sampler, Tumbling Blocks and Hollow Cubes.
