Canada’s search for the best original mixed media works of art. There’s an incredible array of talent out there, some known some yet undiscovered. We’re excited to invite you, your friends or your customers which may include students, graduates and instructors to showcase their expression of creativity in this 1st annual challenge. Prestigious Designer Style Awards will give recognition to those who excel in the arts of fashion sewing/design, beadwork/jewellery design, fibre art/surface design, needle art, knitting/crochet, paper art, quilting and the hot trend of upcycling.
Over $20,000 in cash & prizes include 8 – $1000 cash awards, Swarovski Crystal trophies and more. Creativ Festival Designer Style Challenge & Awards
“On behalf of all the vendors, artists and behind the scenes support for Creativ Festival, we thank you for making this Spring’s Creativ Festival a huge triumph of creative success.”
Nearly 6 months of heavy planning goes on behind-the-scenes to bring Creativ Festival together. We had a number of volunteers donate their time in exchange for Volunteer Rewards for future Creativ Festivals. Though we should never admit we are exhausted, two days of heavy duty interactivity takes a lot of work to pull off. Vendors and volunteers are in need of a day of rest today.
We have been actively planning October 2012′s 25th Anniversary Festival since November 2011. To help celebrate this magnificent year, we are presenting the first ever Designer Style Challenge + Awards. This is open only to Canadians, who are looking to be recognized as a designer, to submit their best projects to be named the top designer awards for Canada. Recognition, cash prizes and Swarovski Crystal trophies are being awarded.
The Designer Style Challenge + Awards submissions are already open to apply. Entries must be received by July 31, 2012. There is media coverage and more associated with these awards. If you have never been recognized for your artistic abilities and would like to submit your work for consideration, this is your opportunity to the get the recognition you deserve. This may give you the platform to be noticed by companies and the media for your skills. This could open the doorway to future opportunities that you can only dream about now.
Whether you are a new ambitious artist or a well seasoned artist looking for a challenge, this challenge is open to all. See our website for more details.

Creativ Festival Show, April 27 - 28, 2012
Last Chance to Visit this Festival is Today
Today is already much different than yesterday. Many families are here together. We are seeing a lot more children on the floor who together with their parents partaking in the ‘Creativ Experience’. Like yesterday, many guests are reconnecting with each other.
You can still buy tickets online or at the door.
In speaking to a few guests, they have their favourite vendors to go see what is new on the marketplace. Many of the sewing enthusiasts are taking in the new sewing machines by the vendors on the floor. Not only can you look, but many of them are offering hands on demonstrations to show you the ins and outs of the equipment.
In about an hour from now, Linda MacPhee will take to the Fashion Arts Stage to engage hundreds of our guests with Do it Yourself Style. Linda is engaging and a crowd favourite.
Busy Aisles at Spring 2012
You still have 7 hours to enjoy this show before we close at 6pm tonight. Vendors will be quickly packing up and going home. Many vendors are scheduled to come back to October 2012′s Creativ Festival Show.

Creativ Festival Show, April 27 - 28, 2012
We’ve been open for a couple hours already today and the show floor is buzzing with creativity. Walking around the floor you can hear guests reconnecting with each other. There is a lot of hugging and story sharing from our attendees. Many of our attendees have met each other through previous Creativ Festivals.
Demonstrations on the show floor are in full swing as people are inspired with new activities. There is a lot of “Ah Ha” moments happening on the floor. The classrooms are filling up with the free sessions we have offered.
There are people of all ages here today. Some school groups have decided to join in today. Teachers realize the importance of encouraging creativity within the young generation.

You can see the floor is absolutely fun. Most of the sessions in classrooms and demos on the show floor are free which creates a ‘Creativ’ feeding frenzy.
Show closes at 8:00pm tonight.
Show opens up tomorrow at 10:00am for the general public. Anyone that buys tickets online gets access to the show floor at 9:00am as an early show entry and if you get your ballot in the drum before 10:00am, you have a chance to win our draw for the daily shopping spree.
