Spinning Wikkety Wack Yarn with Fawn LeClair

Incredible Spun Yarn…

Fawn LeClair at Creativ Festival

Fawn LeClair Teaches Wikkety Wack Yarn Spinning at Creativ Festival

Fawn LeClair started spinning yarn 6 years ago after watching her mother and becoming completely mesmerized by the spinning wheel. She finally said the words, “would you like to try?” and it has been a passion of hers ever since. Fawn was lucky to have her mother as a teacher because she was relaxed enough not to force her into thinking that there is only one ‘right’ way to spin wool. And, she always had a ton of scraps and extra fibre for her to play with, explore and try. Soon after learning the basics to spinning, Fawn started adding new things and trying new techniques that she really didn’t know were techniques. She just wanted to see what would happen when she tried certain combinations, or if she manipulated the fibre in a certain way. That is how she began spinning “Art Yarn”.

Over the years Fawn has had to take breaks (to have her children as tiny fingers and spinning wheels do not go together) but always comes back to spinning. She is now a 30 year old mother of two with a passion to use her hands to see what they can accomplish.
